money for nothing and your chicks for free

well maybe not chick in this case, but how about turkey for free? jamie has hosted our family's thanksgiving for the past 5 or so years. she loves playing hostess and all of the duties that come along with the territory. perhaps her most favorite part of preparations for turkey dinner is the grocery store trip. there's nothing like flinging elbows for the last box of chocolate pudding or cart blocking the old lady next to you for the most succulent turkey; i know she really loves it.

but back to the topic at hand. jamie did her turkey shopping over the weekend because honestly, who goes the day before unless you have a death wish. she made her purchases, loaded up the car and then it dawned on her...this purchase should have cost more than what i paid. jamie found her receipt and started looking over it: corn-check, green beans-check, pie stuff-check, dressing stuff-check, etc...then it hit her. there was no big bird to be found on the receipt.

it appears as though the "luck" i was having a few months prior has finally rubbed of on her. so this year when we sit down to our delicious thanksgiving feast, we'll give thanks to those who are too moronic enough to pay attention to the little beep the register makes when you scan an item.

i was highly turned off with micro-suede
in the beginning, but now, find it to be so inviting.

little self. i need another, believe it or
not, i have too many books for it.

i also did a little shopping at target the other
day and found these awesome dishes on
clearance too! there was no way i could pass
them up. talk about a bargain, not to mention,
they match the furniture! it was a sign.

my walls are still naked. i have yet to figure out where i want to hang my pictures. much less, there are a few new pieces that i would like to buy. it's the decision making process that makes me bananas sometimes. i know there's no rush, but look forward to the day when it's all over and done. i did hang a shelf in the laundry room the other day. and my brother-in-law, dave, would be so proud of me. i actually used a level and those little plastic anchor thingies you're supposed to put in the wall to prevent the drywall from doing something. i'm such a big girl these days.
