sadly i write about the house that is supposed to be, but am almost positive will never be completed. as most of you know i began the most overwhelming process of selling/buying a new home in october of 2006. after 2 real estate agents and almost 7 months on the market, my house on fyler finally sold. i found a fabulous agent, tanya johnson, who worked with and for me. i could not have gotten through selling fyler without her.
while new construction is fabulous and exciting, it certainly does come with it's downfalls. tomorrow will be the 3rd, yes 3rd, date at which i have been scheduled to close. the electric company, for some godforsaken reason, does not see the urgency in having a wire inspection and hooking up the electric as a priority. so without it, the building inspection has yet to happen, thus constituting the no closing again. i'm anxiously awaiting to hear from tanya tomorrow about the seller's latest excuse and new closing date.
in the mean time however, a little quench of your thirst regarding the house. the home itself was actually built in indiana buy a company called genesis homes. it's actually a modular home. now i know what you're thinking, stacy went out and bought herself a mobile home...for the record, hell no!! the house is built off-site in 2 pieces and shipped via tractor trailers; however, once placed on the foundation, it becomes one with the ground and is not to be moved again. apparently, modular homes are far more sturdy than basic construction and require less touch-ups due to being built in a factory. from a visual stand point, you can't even tell it's not regular construction.
itsn't she beautiful. you can see how she was
literally elmer's school glued down the middle.
being that my humble abode on fyler was closed on at the end of july, you may be asking yourself, "self, where are stacy and marshall residing for the time being?" good question. dear sweet loving sister kelly, was gracious enough to offer us the basement quarters of her equally dear sweet loving boyfriend, iliya, with whom she shares along side her pup, lux and kristin, one of my other sisters. yes, that's right, 3 morris girls living along side each other once again, oh the memories. needless to say, marshall and i are most appreciative of kelly and iliya's hospitality and thank them ever so much! marshall is going to take moving out quite hard, leaving behind his playmate, lux. kelly's already hinting to iliya that lux will have serious withdrawals and need a new playmate around the house once we move out.
everyone keep your fingers crossed for good news. hopefully, there's still a chance, perhaps in hell or not, but a slight chance, that i am still able to close by the weekend.
