to the old lady...

today is my darling sister, jamie's birthday. yes, it was 28 years ago that, if you will, wonderful sister of mine was brought into this world. and since i absolutely love embarrassing the living hell out of her, i thought what better way than this...taken on her 8th birthday. and how about that nightgown, rainbow bright rules!!

hey, at least mom was able to spell "happy birthday" correctly on jamie's birthday cake. *poor little kristin's name was spelt "kristn" on her cake one year. i must say though, mom's cake writing ability wasn't the greatest, but she sure made a fantastic birthday cake!

so here's to jamie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY and i look forward to celebrating on saturday with you, dave, brandon, kristin & kelly.

I LOVE YOU!! (even if you won't say it back, ya snot)

*correction: dear mom spelt kristin's name "kritin"

houston, we have a home

and then there was one...yes my friends, marshall no longer has a step brother. my signs worked and about an hour ago the owner contacted me, well actually the owner's father-if you want to get technical, the pooch belongs to his son. apparently, ozzie (this dog is not an ozzie) lives only a block and a half away. his family just got a new fence (hope they didn't spend too much on it, because it obviously isn't serving it's purpose) and ozzie was able to pop open the latch and make a break for it.

so here sits marshall, peacefully back on his couch without the disturbance of an intruder. the need for dominace has passed...because marshall's such a hard ass. i told the owner he needs to feed his pup a lot more (he claims he's just really active, yeah-no) and get some tags or at least a chip put in him.

my job here is done.

uh, it's a boy...part 2

ok, so the arrangements for when i went to work were: marshall in the living room, as usual and founders in the bedroom. as most of you already know, marshall has hip-dysplacia; therefore, he's not a jumper. well, color me stupid, because a-duh, this boxer is straight off the trampoline. i come home and marshall is resting peacefully on his spot on the couch. founders, on the other hand, has managed to jump in my clothes basket in his valiant attempt to get a look through the window and mangle my blinds in my bedroom, not to mention setting up camp in my bed by throwing a few pillows on the floor, what the shit? hey, at least he's house-broken!

i also had a message from someone at the apa. she informed me that billy at the maplewood location could help me out if that's the area i was calling from. guess what, it's not. some help they are.

i did however, get to have an actual conversation with someone from boxer rescue
. i gave her a full physical description and what his mannerisms were like. i told her that i should be able to hold on to him for a few days. she said that would be fantastic due to all of their foster homes no-vacancies.

i posted about 10 signs last night after work, but of course, i ran out of tape; more will be going up today. keep your fingers crossed people!

uh, it's a boy

no morons, i'm not prego. it seems as though (for the time being) marshall has a brother. while basking in the yard today, a wondering dog found his way over to marshall. i went outside to see what all the commotion was about and found a purebred boxer hanging out in my driveway. he came right up to me without hesitation. unfortunately, the little guy only had a collar...no id tag. i wasn't about to turn him away, so i let him in the house. he and marshall sniffed each other for a bit then came to some type of peace, i think-well, at least no one's dead, yet.

so, thus begins my laborius search to find where this little guy belongs or what the devil i'm supposed to do with him.

step #1 humane society -- called their lost & found number; all of our their voicemail boxes are full. no surprise with the intake from katrina and all. called back on the main line, surprise, surprise, all people are busy, please leave a message, done.

step #2 animal protection association -- couldn't get an actually person to save my life. left a message in two different people's voicemail.

step #3 dr. lux, marshall's vet -- told me to bring the little guy in and they'll check him for a microchip. after literally fighting marshall for the use of his leash on 'founders' (as we'll call him) and loading him into the the car, we arrive at dr. lux's. can you say, i should have known? of course, founders is without a chip. i spoke a little more with the vet tech and she informed me that he's somewhere around 3 years old, neutered (duh) and slighty mal-nutritioned. she said i could keep him, post signs, drop him at a shelter, blah, blah, blah.

well, i'm not about to turn him over to a shelter that's just going to euthanize him. i've made and started posting signs. i've tried calling two no-kill shelters and searching the internet for boxer rescue...both of which have led me to more voicemail boxes.

so here i sit with another dog in my ever so retardedly small house. marshall weighing in at 65 lbs. and founders rounding out somewhere around 55-60 lbs. if any one has ANY suggestions, please, for the love of my sanity, help me!! oh, god...i just got called into work for someone and will have to leave in about 30 minutes and am afraid of what i may be coming home to tonight. help me...(long, yet calm pause)...help me-help me-help me (one quick breath & now freaking out)!!!

s.o.s.

(save our stacy)

random bits

woo-hoo...gas is down a whole freaking 30 cents! how's that for exciting. thankfully, i live less than 3 miles from work and am surrounded by almost all of my necessary shopping. (come on october 9th, i need my new hampton target">Link to re-open, oh how i miss you, i hate lindbergh people!!) considering the last time i fed the (trail blazing) beast, she ate a whopping $56.00 worth of gas. i must say, my nephew brandon, is really lucky he's so darn cute and fun to hang out with; otherwise, my trips out to jamie & dave's house-in the middle of nowhere-would only happen it they started slipping me a few jackson's.

marshall and i took a trip to petsmart
">Link the other day. oh, how he just loves to frolic down the aisles and 'test' out all of the toys. funny though, the one he picks out, when we bring it home, he just ignores it, the spoiled brat with his damn green beans.

and for all you family guy lovers who enjoy having sexy parties...

...this is for you!

what a little hottie

for those of you who have never had the pleasure of meeting my nephew, brandon, here's a picture of the cute little guy. the fam just celebrated brandon's 1st birthday, august 26th. what a fun couple of days: celebrating with chuck e cheese">link, a family party at suson park">link, cake and so many presents...oh, to be a kid again! i am absolutely loving watching this little guy grow up. i can't wait to see what the next years bring...perhaps another nephew or niece (no pressure jamie & dave)!!
